    New English language requirements summary for Tier 4 applications with CAS's issued on or after 21st April 2011：

    2011年4月21日后对第四层级学生签证申请人的最新语言要求总结如下：

    Students coming to study at level 6 （undergraduate） and above will need to be competent in English to level B2 of the Common European Framework Reference.

    对于前往英国学习NQF6或以上（即本科或以上）课程的学生，其英语必须达到欧洲语言教学评估共同纲领（CEFR）B2水平。

    If a student is coming to study at level 6 and above and will be studying with a Tier 4 sponsor that is a Higher Education Institution， the HEI may make their own assessment of English competency and must state this on the CAS.

    如果学生在第四层级下的高等教育担保机构学习NQF6或以上的课程，高等教育机构可以自行测试学生的英语水平，并且要将测试结果写在CAS上。

    For students coming to study at level 6 and above at a Higher Education Institution， the English Language requirement can be waived if the sponsor considers the student to be a gifted student. The Academic Registrar at the Higher Education Institution will need to personally authorise the waiving of the language requirement on the CAS.

    如果学生在高等教育担保机构学习NQF6或以上的课程，高等教育机构可以免去对特别优秀的学生的语言要求。但是必须由高等教育院校的教务长（Academic Registrar）亲自在该学生的CAS上批准免去其英语语言要求。

    If a student is coming to study at level 6 and above and will be studying with a Tier 4 sponsor who is NOT a Higher Education Institution， the applicant will be required to provide a Secure English Language Test to level B2.

    如果学生在第四层级下的非高等教育担保机构学习NQF6或以上的课程，申请人必须通过强制性安全英语语言测试并达到B2的水平。

    Students coming to study at lower level courses at levels NQF 3-5， including the Pathways must be competent at level B1 of the Common European Framework Reference. The sponsor must assess the student is competent in English language at a minimum level B1 through provision of a SELT. This also applies to students who are undertaking foundation degrees； or pre-sessional courses before a degree course； or， studying English as a foreign language under Tier 4 at CEFR level B2.

    如果学生将在英国学习NQF3-5的课程，包括衔接课程，申请人必须通过强制性安全英语语言测试证明其英语达到B1水平。该要求同样适用于预科学位课程，学位课程之前的预备课程，以及在第四层级下课程水平达到B2的英语语言课程。

    Government sponsored students must be studying English at a minimum of CEFR level B2 and will require a SELT.

    Exemptions to the SELT requirements remain if the student is from a majority English speaking country， has obtained a qualification equivalent to a UK degree in a majority English speaking country， or studied in the UK recently as a child student.
