订婚及仪式筹备

　　（来北京旅游的九个月前，Kristy正处在大多数单身女孩所梦想的情况中。最近的一些事情让Ben觉得Kristy就是他想要的人，现在是到求婚的时候了。）
　　Kristy:晚饭好极了，Ben。
　　Ben:嗯，我有一些重要的事情要告诉你……我的老板今天要给我升职了。
　　Kristy:这个消息真是太棒了！这是你应得的！ (探过身去吻他)
　　Ben:的问题是他要派我去北京的分公司当经理。
　　Kristy:啊……
　　Ben:我得仔细考虑一下……我能遇到像你这样的人真是幸运。那天我们被大雨困在一起的时候，我就知道自己爱上你了 (单膝跪地在Kristy前面)。我爱你，我会永远爱你的……Kristy，我不能没有你，你会嫁给我吗？
　　Kristy:（高兴地哭了) 愿意，愿意！我会嫁给你！我爱你，Ben!
　　(这一对拥抱在一起，整个饭店响起一片掌声)
　　Ben:(把订婚戒指戴在Kristy的手上) 我好高兴！
　　Kristy:我简直等不及要告诉所有的人我们要结婚了！我们订婚了！我要就要当Franklin太太了！
　　Ben:那么，Franklin太太，我们到时要举办个订婚仪式了。
　　Kristy:什么时候？我们的时间不多的。你什么时候去北京？我们还得定个日子结婚呢。
　　（在Ben去北京之前，他和Kristy开了个订婚派对。安排一个派对真是个很累人的活儿。）
　　Ben:嗨，James，宴会的事安排得怎么样了？
　　James:我们正在缓慢的进展中。
　　Edwin:老爸，你订好大帐篷了吗？
　　James:有啊，我订的是适合院子的最大号的。
　　Kristy:嗨，Ben！（拥抱她的未婚夫）Edwin，你们有没有从主办人那里听到回信？他们说要……
　　Edwin:有啊，他们打电话来说今天下午要发一些菜单样品的邮件来。
　　Kristy:乐队怎么样了？他们知道什么时候来吗？
　　Ben:别着急，他们会从7点待在这里，直到太阳出来为止。
　　Kristy:你告诉他们这是很正式的宴会了吗？

　　（电话响了，Edwin接起电话）
　　Edwin:是主办人，他们问起器皿的事。
　　James:让我和他们说吧……你好，我是James Jasper，未婚妻的父亲，这是我女儿的订婚宴会，我想让它办得别具风格。
　　
　　 Engagement and Ceremony Preparation
　　
　　(Nine months before her trip to Beijing, Kristy was in a situation that most single girl's dream of. Recent events have made Ben decide that Kristy is the woman for him, and that now is the time to propose.)
　　Kristy:This is a lovely dinner, Ben.
　　Ben:Well, I have something important to tellyou...My boss gave me a big promotiontoday.
　　Kristy:That's fantastic news! You deserve it. (leansover and kisses him)
　　Ben:The only problem is that he's sending me toChina to be the manager of the Beijing office.
　　Kristy:Oh...
　　Ben:That got me thinking...I'm so lucky tohave met someone like you. That day wegot caught in the rain, I knew I was in lovewith you. (Gets on one knee in front ofKristy). I love you. I'll always love you. Ican't live without you...Kristy, will youmarry me?
　　Kristy:(Crying with tears of joy) Yes! Yes! I'llmarry you! I love you Ben!
　　(The couple embrace and the whole restaurant applauds)
　　Ben:(Putting the engagement ring on Kristy'sfinger) I'm so happy!
　　Kristy:I can't wait to tell everyone that we'regoing to get married! We're engaged! I'mgoing to be Mrs. Franklin!
　　Ben:Well, Mrs. Franklin, we'll have to hold anengagement party then.
　　Kristy:When? We haven't got a lot of time. Whendo you go to Beijing? We need to set a datefor the wedding.
　　(Before Ben left for Beijing, he and Kristy held an engagement party. Arranging a party can be a stressful job.)
　　Ben:Hi James! How are the arrangements for theparty coming?
　　James:We're getting there, slowly.
　　Edwin:Dad, did you book the marquee?
　　James:Yes. I got the biggest one that would fit inthe yard.

　　Ben:Yes. They'll be here from 7pm until the suncomes up.
