Interest in search engines 对搜索引擎的兴趣
Sergey expressed interest in the Internet very early on in his studies at Stanford. He authored and co-authored various papers on data-mining and pattern extraction. He also wrote software to ease the process of putting scientific papers often written in TeX, a text processing language, into HTML form, as well as a website for film ratings.
The defining moment for Sergey, however, was when he met future co-president of Google, Larry Page. Sergey was assigned to show Larry around the university on a weekend tour. Reportedly, they did not get on well to begin with, arguing about every topic they discussed. However, they soon found a common interest: retrieving relevant information from large data sets. Together, the pair authored what is widely considered their seminal contribution; a paper entitled "The Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine". The paper has since gone on to become the tenth most accessed scientific paper at Stanford University.

As of 2005 Brin and Page are estimated to be worth USD$11 billion apiece and are sixteenth in Forbes 400 list and ranked the 2nd richest Americans under the age of 40, after Pierre Omidyar, founder of eBay. He also is the world's youngest self-made billionaire along with Larry Page and Bill Gates.
The duo has recently purchased a very large passenger plane, a Boeing 767, for their private use.

Niklas Zennstrom, born 1966, is a Swedish entrepreneur. He is the founder of the KaZaA peer-to-peer file sharing network and Skype peer-to-peer internet telephony network. He has dual degrees in Business Administration and Engineering Physics (MSc, computer science) from Uppsala University in Sweden. He spent his final year at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He started his professional career at the European telecom operator Tele2, when there were only 23 employees. Now the company is the leading consumer oriented pan-European telecom operator present in 23 countries.
